You've all been waiting so patiently for the sneaks of our February kit and add-on ... and I have good news. Your wait it finally over! I do have to issue one disclaimer, though: I feel these sneak peeks are somewhat incomplete given that I'm still waiting on one box of goodies, many of which make up the lovely splashes of rose and pink that are part of this month's kit. This kit is going be perfect for everyday shots, but it's also going to work great for those of you inclined to create a card for your sweetie or a Valentine layout about someone you love. Once that last box arrives in the next few days, I'll give you a few more glimpses. ;)

Our gallery is live over at the Burlap & Buttercups website so I can finally start showing my designs! Our kit this month features Simple Stories Yearography and My Mind's Eye Kraft Funday which are such a wonderful mix of papers!! Here is a picture of the complete kit so you'll have something to drool over! Lol!! :)

This first layout I want to share is based on our sketch artist Mary Pat's fabulous sketch for January.

I'm trying to catch up from 2010 pictures and after seeing the kit I knew a Valentine's Day layout would be perfect with these papers and stickers. So here is my sweet little baby girl opening her Valentine's Day gifts from Mommy and Daddy which has been a tradition since we got married.

Happy Birthday my sweet Gracie girl!!

Yesterday was my sweet baby's birthday and I couldn't be a prouder momma!! I am now the mom of the sweetest little 5 year old girl!! Earlier in the day, we had a little party at her preschool where we had mini cupcakes (red velvet) and Cheeto Puffs. Nutritious I know!! Lol!! But all the kids didn't complain and Gracie had a good time.

Then we came home where I ran around the kitchen like a mad woman trying to accomplish the cake I had pictured in my brain. I was going to post this yesterday but then I thought about the fact that I wanted to post a picture of her cake so I waited until today. It came out so good and I'm so proud of myself!! I had to show it off! ;)

Here are a few pics of her with a couple of her favorite presents. Yes.........we are full board on the Lalaloopsy train!!

I have been meaning to jump back on here and finish posting the rest of my projects the past couple of days but you know how busy this time of year seems to be. I am happy to report though that I have finished all of my Christmas shopping so I have been doing my happy Elf dance!! Whoo-hoo!! Gotta love that!

So anywhooooo.....on to my layouts! This month was so exciting for me because Rachel introduced the Burlap Sack kits at Burlap & Buttercups and I was so lucky to get to design with it! Fun, fun, fun kit!!

And the last little project I made is a pocket book/ gift wrap. Thinking this is going to be perfect wrapping to give to my niece who loves to shop!! And her present....a GC to Forever 21! She's gonna love it!!

Another rejection......another heartbreak but it won't keep a good woman down!! I tried out for the Imaginisce design team but was rejected. Can't figure this DT thing out. But oh well, there will be other chances to try out and other design teams to try out for as well. Anywho.....I wanted to post my projects because I love them and wanted to share them with others.

I'm so excited to share with everyone that Rachel the owner of Burlap & Buttercups kit club has decided to offer a different kit every once in a while. She is calling them Burlap Sack kits and the coolest thing......the embellishments come in an actual burlap sack!! How cool is that?!?! And let me tell you this is no little bitty burlap sack, it's a big one! Hold on and let me measure this thing........ it's around 7 inches across and 11 inches tall. Nice size to give a gift to someone in.

Season's Greeting card

Good Thursday morning!! I´m so excited to share this card with you again because it is being featured today on Scrapscene's Card A Day. I can't tell you how much I love this card! I showed all of my Christmas cards to my sister and this was her favorite so I immediately pulled this one aside to send to her for Christmas. Merry Christmas Sis!!

Here's how I made it:

Supplies:

- Red and Cream colored cardstock

- Cuttlebug embossing folder

- Imaginisce Santa’s Little Helper pattern paper Christmas Magic

- Imaginisce Santa’s Little Helper chipboard stickers

- Imaginisce Santa’s Little Helper die cuts

- EK Success border punch

- Martha Stewart gems

- ribbon of choice

"Cut cream colored cardstock to make card which measures 5” x 6”. Cut red cardstock to 4 ¾” x 5 ¾” and run it through Cuttlebug embossing folder. Adhere to card base. Cut another piece of cream colored cardstock to measure 5 ” x 3 ¼” and run the bottom part through the border punch. Cut green pattern paper to measure 5” x 2 ½” and adhere to cream cardstock. Wrap ribbon around that piece and adhere on the back. Adhere that whole piece to the base of the card. Add ribbon bow, chipboard circle piece, and berry cut-out with the gems."

Winter Wishes Christmas card

I recently made a purchase of some SP & Company stamps and I am loving these fabulous stamps!! I just made this card using the Falling Snow stamp set for the Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combo challenge. I immediately fell in love with this adorable little snowman and knew he had to be the first stamp I played with! Papers are from the new Echo Park Season's Greetings 6x6 paper pad.

TGIF!! How's everyone's Friday going so far? Mine has been good so far all though I haven't gotten out of my jammies yet which makes me comfortable and I'm LOVING it!! Nothing beats a good pair of jammies!! Especially on these cold December mornings!

Today I wanted to share a challenge that I just posted on the Burlap & Buttercups blog. It's my "no red or green Christmas card challenge"! I used a couple of sheets of the yellow paper from the November kit along with some black cardstock to make this card. I also used a couple of techniques to embellish it such as using some gold embossing powder to give the snowflakes some pop.

Friday - Home Decor

Morning to all! Did everyone survive? LOL!! I'm thankful for all of that good food but good gosh....I hate that feeling after I've stuffed myself with a whole plate and half full plus dessert. I'm glad it only comes around once a year!!

Today is the last day of me sharing some Christmas inspiration and I've got the cutest, sweetest little snow woman to share with you! I bought the paper mache snowman from Hobby Lobby a couple of years ago. The first thing I did was use some brown acrylic paint and painted around all of the edges. Once again, I brought out my Crate Paper Peppermint collection to make her pretty! It really was very easy to make her snow and clothing.....just a lot of tracing and cutting. Plus adding some Modge Podge matt finish to make sure this little gal is gonna hold up through the years.

For her scraf, I used this ribbon trim that I bought at Walmart last year. I really hope they have some more because I'm finding a lot of great uses for it!

For her nose, I took a small piece of orange pop pom trim, folded it in half, and then glued it on. The eyes are Kaisercraft black gems and her mouth is a small piece cut off of a Prima Say It In Crystals. Eyelashes were just drawn in with a pen.

This part of her hat was a little more difficult....well, not difficult just a little more time consuming. The bottom layer of the "flower" was made from one of the new EK Success. I used the punch on a strip of 1 1/2" x 12" pattern paper. Scored and fan folded the same way you do for a fan flower. Second layer was made the same way except I used a different border punch. The snowflake is a Maya Road chipboard snowflake which I painted white and then added some Stickles. Glue all of those layers together with either a glue gun or I like to use Beacon's 3-in-1. And she's all done! What d'ya think of her?

Thursday - Thanksgiving Greetings and Christmas wrapping and tags

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! I truly hope that all are having a wonderful day spent with family and friends. Chad, the kids, and I are spending our Thanksgiving with his family and I'm sure that I am stuffed! With all this good food, I never know when to stop! But I guess it's only one day a year that I can eat like this and feel guilt free! We'll see how I feel about that tomorrow! LOL!!

(I will have to come back Friday and put in how everything was made because it's 1:00am as I'm sitting here writing this blog post. I'm right in the middle of cooking for tomorrow and I have very little energy left, so I promise I'll be back to give you all the details just in case you'd like to make any of this for yourself.)

Wednesday - Ornaments

So today I am going to show you a couple of ornaments that kept me busy and up to my ears in glue for a couple of hours but man....were they fun to make! So much fun that when I get some more time to play I'm going to be making some more ornaments. I'm going to have to find some that are a little bit easier so that I get my baby girl in on the fun! She's a mini me and is already showing signs of have a promising scrapbook career! LOL!!

Here’s a looksy at both of my ornaments:

I LOVE how this first one turned out!! I used the Imaginisce Santa’s Little Helper collection. It was fairly simple to make…all you need are 12 squares of 2” pieces of pattern paper rolled into cones for the outer layer and 12 squares of 1 ½” pieces rolled into cones for the inner layer. Be sure to add 4 pieces of ribbon in between the layers. And then add your center piece! Nothing much to it!

To make this second ornament, I used 13 pieces of pattern paper (2” x 4”), ran them through one of my border punches, glued them to make them into loops, and then glued them all together at the base of each loop to make a circle of loops. Then I added the center and a string to hang! So easy and so much fun! Actually the hardest part of this whole process was photographing it!

I love to get mail and receiving a card from a loved one absolutely makes my day. So I love returning the favor of letting someone know that I'm thinking of them and sending them some love.

This card is made from my left over Girl's Paperie Tinsel and Twig collection from last year. Sentiment is Kaisercraft, poinsettia is Making Memories, the center of poinsettia is Jenni Bowlin, lace trim I'm sure I bought at Walmart, border punch is Martha Stewart.

Season's Greetings

This card is made from Imaginisce's Santa's Little Helper which in my opinion is an absolutely adorable Christmas line!! I also used some Martha Stewart gemstones, ribbon....sorry, I don't have a clue who makes this or where I got it from, EK Success border punch, Cuttlebug embossing folder, and some Bazzill cardstock.

Peace On Earth

This card was made from a mixture of papers I still have left over. I believe I used October Afternoon Very Merry, Girl's Paperie Tinsel & Twig, and some College Press. Snowflake is Maya Road with some red Stickles, cream trim is Maya Road, button is Jenni Bowlin, and baker's twine is Jillibean Soup.

Merry Christmas

This card is made with Lily Bee's Christmas Town from last year. I love the not-so-traditional color palette of this card. Everything on this card is Lily Bee with the exception of the embossed cardstock which is Coordinations, pearls are Kaisercraft, and I used my Cricut Cindy Loo cart. for the frame.

Monday - layout day!

Good Monday Morning!! Today I am going to be showing you a couple of layouts that I've made. I bought the Crate Paper Peppermint collection and let me tell you, if you are thinking about getting it......GET IT!! You won't regret it! It's a great collection for all of your crafty Christmas needs!

This layout is about my baby girl who LOVES her Christmas tree! It's white and she has the sweetest little ornaments to put on it. So when I saw the ornament punch-outs, I knew I wanted to have them hanging on the layout. I also knew that I had to incorporate some baker's twine because it's my go-to embellishment right now. I know a few of you who feel the same....it's great stuff!

Here you can see a close up of how I used pop dots to lift the ornaments off of the page (as well as some of the tags).

I added some of the Cosmo Cricket tiny type alphas for a long title and regular size alphas for the main part of the title.

And this is my second layout that was also made with the Crate Paper Peppermint collection. I crack up everytime I see these pics! Gracie dressed up in the Santa suit and Josh was her reindeer. It was his clever mind who came up with everything from getting her dressed up, him being the reindeer and using the top lid of the toy box for the sleigh. There is never a dull moment in our house especially around the holidays!

November B&B kit sneak peaks

How true the saying "When one door closes, God opens a window!" He's so amazing that way!! He keeps blessing me with my passion (scrapbooking) and the latest blessing is being added to the DT at Burlap and Buttercups. I just finished up on my projects and I have had so much fun designing with the November kit!! So now I get to show you a few little sneak peaks at what I've done. It is with a heavy heart that I have to say that this will be my last reveal from The Scrapping Spot. The owners Jill and Cathy have decided to close the doors.

"When we first started The Scrapping Spot we hoped it would become not just a kit club, but a real community. A place where we could scrap with our friends, challenge each other, share scrappy inspiration as well as personal joys and troubles. The members of this message board have truly become family to us and we have you all to thank for it.

But while our message board has been an unqualified success, the kit club has been less so. The sinking economy, along with rising costs for both scrap goods and postage have made keeping our small business afloat more trouble that it is worth. With great regret we will be closing down the kit club side of The Scrapping Spot. November is our last kit.

We do not want to lose our Scrapping Spot family, however, so we are going to set up a new (less expensive) message board where we can continue to share our lives and our scrappy goodness. Please stay with us! We will share with you the details regarding the new message board site soon.

We will be having some great sales to clear out the inventory of TSS, so keep checking the store. We plan to keep it open until December."

I am so grateful for the time I had there!! I have met some truly wonderful ladies who I consider family now and we plan to keep in touch through another message board which makes me happy! But at the same time I'm sad because I won't get any more of the fabulous kits to play with. So with all that being said.....here are the last 2 layouts and a card that I have to share from the November kit.

Just popping in today to wish everyone a fun and sweet Halloween!

It seems like the month of October holds a lot of traditions for us. Hadn't really realized it until now. I find myself scrapping the same things over and over each October. Things like the corn maize, Halloween dinners, and trips to Blowing Rock, NC. Fun things that I know my kids will remember and hopefully treasure when they are older!!

Down on the Farm and Sleepyhead

Stopping by to share 2 of my projects made with my November The Scrapping Spot kit. I think The Crate Paper Farmhouse collection is one of my favorite collections to date since I've been scrapping!

Here is a layout about my sweet little Gracie girl who I took this picture of while we were spending the day on a farm that has a fun corn maize every year. I love that they had these great toy tractors for the kids to play on. So proud of myself for breaking out of the box with my sewing maching! I sat down to do my usual straight or zig zag stitch but thought to myself "why not use a different stitch!" So I did and I am loving how it turned out!

Loving this cherry paper but I sort of struggled at first on how to use it. I kept trying to think of any pictures I have of Gracie in an outfit with cherries but I have none!! So there again I found my poor little brain trying to think outside the box. I then started pairing up the red with some green and went straight to these pictures of my little sleepyhead! As with the layout about I found myself doing something I've never tried before: mitered corners with a border punch on the inside and once again loved how it turned out!

Best Fall Day Ever

I have one more layout to share from the October The Scrapping Spot kit. And yes, it is a 2 pager!! It doesn't happen that often anymore but occasionally I need to do a 2 pager because of all the pictures I want to scrap. I LOVE how this turned out. I have had these new Unity Stamps that I have been itching to use!! They are so much fun to use!

This flower was simply made by cutting out the leaves from one of the American Crafts Nightfall papers.

Exciting news!!

Yep!!! That's right!! I am one of the new girls that were blessed to be added to the wonderfully talented group of design team girlies at Burlap and Buttercups!!!! I got the news yesterday and I am still giddy and having random bursts of squealing!! Thank you to Rachel and all that were in involved in the process of choosing the new girls for their design team! A necessity for fall mornings and a couple of cards

As of September 23rd, it was officially Fall but for me Fall doesn't officially start until I have had my first cup of Pumpkin Spice coffee! FAll has officially started for me this year!! And boy did it taste GOOD!! LOL!! For those who don't know me, Fall is my favorite season. It is the one season that tickles my taste buds with all of the recipes made from all of those wonderful gourds!! YUM!!!! So I had to do a layout dedicated to this occasion and also to put in my Book of ME so that my kiddos will know this little piece of their mom.

September Reveal for The Scrapping Spot

Finally getting around to posting my layouts and cards for the September The Scrapping Spot September kit which features 3 Bugs in a Rug Ashtyn collection. These papers have such a fun mix of patterns: flowers, grungy solids, polka dots, and my favorite the zebra striped!! And the colors are just beautiful!! Jill and Cathy also threw in some fun embellishments which include some beautiful yellow rosette ribbon, pleated pink ribbon, a couple of BG Curio epoxy clips and Sweet Threads tabs, some hot pink pearls and flowers, green Daiquiri Thickers, and a whole slew of other embellies including some of the NEW Cosmo Glubbers. This is a MUST have kit for the girlie pics whether they're big or little girlies!!

So let me get started showing my creations with this kit!!

This layout is one of my favs because of the zebra striped paper and pictures of my little sweetheart who just started preschool and is loving it!! So of course we had to go out and buy her some new school clothes.

Piles of Smiles - Imaginisce sketch fun

I decided to join in on the fun sketch challenge at Imaginisce this month! It didn't take long to decide that after seeing this wonderful sketch by Becky Fleck! Love her sketches!! Especially this one which was created specially for Imaginisce.

They are so easy to use and if you're not liking the way the sketch is, then just flip it or change something up. Which is what I decided to do. Really the only thing I did was to flip the background and do a smaller scale of it. And of course I was tickled to get to use some of my Imaginisce stash. I have had these Apple Ciders papers since last fall and they were my favorites. I seriously had a hard time cutting into them! But I finally did and I love the gorgeous colors and patterns of them when they are displayed on a layout. Plus I adore that little racoon (which I added some Stickles to).

I LOVE it when a layout comes together this easily!!

Here is a close up shot so you can see that adorable little guy! Now I just need to get my hands on the new Happy Harvest so I can play with the adorable new guys in town....the fox and the owl!!

My 1st Publication and the rest of my TSS projects

I can't believe it!!! I will be published for my 1st time EVER!!! I got the email today from CARDS asking for one of my cards!!! So stinkin' excited I can't stand it!!! So here it is......my "Out for Publication" icon!! I just sat down and created this!!

I also made this one but am liking the yellow one better so that's the one I'm using for now.

OMGosh, did I say how stinkin' excited I am?!?!?! So be on the look out for my "Make a Wish" birthday card using Echo Park's For the Record papers! It will be in the January 2012 edition!!

Wheeeeeeeeew!!!! Gotta catch my breath!!! OK, on to my TSS (The Scrapping Spot) projects... my other 2 layouts and a card using the August kit.

Through your Eyes

Made this star using one of the chipboard stars and the Tim Holtz tissue tape. I ripped up pieces of tissue tape and applied them to the chipboard and then added some watered down red acrylic paint.

I was in shock when I made this layout. Simply over the fact that my oldest baby is now 17 (almost 18)! We are in the process of getting ready for Senior pictures so I'll have to get those posted when we have them! Good gracious....where does the time go? Anyway, back to the layout. This is about all the things Chris is into these days of being 17. Should be fun for him to look back on!!

And the last thing that I have made with the kit so far....I still have so much of the kit left over, I'm sure I'll be making more with it!! This has been one of the funnest kits I've played with in a long time!!!

My August TSS Reveal - part 1

Due to enjoying a relaxing week at the beach, I only have 1/2 of my projects done with my The Scrapping Spot August kit. Which is absolutely fabulous BTW!!! The papers are Basic Grey Oxford and the embellies are a mix of BG Oxford, Tim Holtz, GCD, Kaisercraft, Bazzill, Jenni Bowlin, & Petaloo. This has to be one of my favorite kits ever!! It is so much fun to work with!

So here are my layouts that I have completed so far. The whole idea of this kit was to stay away from school but I couldn't help myself when I remembered I had these pics of my sweet little girl who is soooooo ready to go to school but can't start until the next school year(not this coming one).

Back from a wonderful vacation!! (picture heavy!)

This past week has been so fun and relaxing! I told my husband that this has probably been one of the best vacations we've had! Didn't get any scrapping done except this card that I made for my niece who just turned 2. Used my Best Creation Let's Party papers! This is the first time for making a pop up card and it was fun making it! I will be making more in the future!

Even though all of my scrapping time was cut drastically it was replaced with so much fun and family time!! LOVED it!!

Being in Myrtle Beach, it just doesn't feel right until you play a game of mini-golf!! And of all the courses, we chose the right one!! Josh thought this was very funny!

We had LOTS of time on the beach and in the pool!

And Mom always has to do the dreaded photo shoot to get some photos to scrap!! LOVE the way these turned out!

The kids had a blast getting to spend time with cousins that we don't get to see very often.

We visited the aquarium while we were there. J and G were so mesmerized with all of the different colors that the fish were adored with. I have to admit I was too!! Very cool experience!! G was thrilled that they were having a Mermaid exhibit and couldn't wait to get to it so she could see the mermaids. After seeing the mermaids she had to go to the mermaid boutique and be a mermaid herself. Isn't she a beautiful little mermaid?!?!?

July reveal for The Scrapping Spot!

Hi All!! It's finally time to reveal the goods that I've been playing with!! It's the July kit from The Scrapping Spot which is filled with all of the summery goodness from Bo Bunny Barefoot and Bliss!!! This line is perfect for scrapping all of your summer pictures about being at the beach, at the lake, at the pool, or your kids enjoying popsicles!!!

Doesn't this look like a huge pile of summery goodness?!?!?! Other than the colors, I LOVE that this kit has some 12x12 papers and some 6x6 papers!! NEVER seen a kit with both! I also love the little bottle of glitter, the sampling of journal pieces and shapes, the glittery flower shapes, and the bling!! What girl doesn't love her bling?!?!

Cosmo Cricket - summer playdate fun

Another sketch challenge for me.....this time it's Cosmo Cricket!!! They posted this wonderful sketch by Yukari.

I am a HUGE fan of CC's so I have quite a few of their collections and I decided to mix a few for my layout. I used Delovely, Togetherness, Girl Friday, and Garden Variety (journal box). I chose to go with blue, red, and yellow for my color palette which in my opinion is a "can't go wrong" palette!! I decided to turn the sketch on it's right side so that the layered strips are vertical and used 2 horizontal pictures to replace the bottom photo. I also added some stitching to my cloud and some pearl dots to frame it all in.

Here is my sweet baby girl and pictures from our playdate at the pool last year. The kids always have so much fun playing together and adding water to the mix only adds to the FUN!!

Since I had some beautiful Bo Bunny papers in my possession and ready to be scrapped with I decided to take the Bo Bunny sketch challenge! And yes....everything I used is from my first DT kit (July's) from The Scrapping Spot which I am just over the moon about!!The pier paper from "Barefoot and Bliss" just begged to be scrapped and I had the PERFECT picture of my son and nieces & nephews on a pier! Found this sketch by Liz C. over at Sweet Peach Crop so I had to have a go at it! Glad I did because I am very tickled with the results!!

So proud of my big guy....he finally learned to ride his bike this year! It took a lot of coaxing from Mom and Dad but finally he hopped on and took off after a few tries. We did experience some bumps and bruises but I think he's glad he did it!

Papers are all October Afternoon. Main papers are the new 5 and Dime and I mixed in some Schoolhouse.

Crop time at Back Porch Memories

If you need me this weekend (and all next week), here's where I'll be.......

Main Crop Weekend:
Friday, May 13 at noon EST - Sunday, May 15 at 6 p.m. EST
What does this mean? Well, this is the main weekend, meaning ALL of our challenges and classes will be posted during this weekend so you can get scrapping. We will also have games and bonus challenges going on this weekend, too. About half of the challenges will be due at the end of this weekend. All of the games and bonus challenges will end on Sunday, also.

Extra Time for SOME Challenges/Classes
Last time, you all loved the extra time we gave you to complete some of our challenges and classes, so we're doing it again! The other half of our classes/challenges will be due by the following Saturday, May 21st. That gives you a whole extra week!

Lots of new things to share!

Completely back in the game as far as scrapbooking goes and it's feeling GREAT!!! I finally have this little beauty in my hands and let me say, it feels awesome!! Finally I can breathe a sigh of relief!! :)

Making the yearbook for my son's school was definitely an experience that I'll never forget! It was fun and frustrating all at the same time!

Now on to all of the scrapbooking goodies that I've been making. First thing I wanted to share was some DT work that I made for my LSS - Family Memories here in Charlotte. I had a lot of fun using the We R Memory Keepers' Peep line. Loving the bright and happy colors!

Next is a couple of layouts that I made using some Best Creation papers. I tell ya, my favorite thing about these papers is the glitter!! And it's the glitter that doesn't come off and get all over the rest of your layout, your hands, your clothes, your desk, your floor....well, your scrapbookers - you get it! :) This first layout is made with the fabulous "Let's Party" & "Make A Wish" (the papers that I won from the card contest).

MLYB sketch challenge

An update on my last post....I won the Best Creations card contest and received some FABULOUS birthday papers from them!!! I'll make a post here soon to show what did with those!

So after winning that contest my confidence was boosted so now I am going to enter the My Little Yellow Bicycle sketch contest. Keeping my fingers crossed that I am in the final 3 and win but if not, I have a layout with gorgeous pictures of my sweet little Gracie girl! I love how this turned out!

The colors of Twig are such a wonderful color palette! These colors really speak to me! They are calming and soothing and I LOVE them!!! Here are a couple of detail shots:

I was really hoping to get a great detail shot of the butterfly and flowers but I'm not feeling that I got them. I added Tattered Angel's Glimmer Glaze to them. They look really really good IRL but like I say, I just couldn't get the camera to work with me. So there ya go! Hope you all enjoy and are inspired!

Slowly getting back in the groove with some Best Creations

I still have 2 weeks left of getting the yearbook for my son's school finished!! YAY!! I am slowly but surely trying to get back in the groove with my scrapbooking! It feels so good to be back in my room doing what I love!!! The last couple of days I have been playing with some Best Creations papers which are simply fabulous papers to play with! The owner of my LSS (Debbie at Family Memories, Charlotte, NC) loves this company's papers so I had a fabulous selection to choose from!

This first card was made for my sweet little niece who just turned sweet 16! Then I realized that Best Creations was having a birthday card contest and I thought "PERFECT!!" So here is my entry for it:

I had so much fun playing around with these gorgeous papers so I decided to make another card for Easter with their Bunny Love papers.

One last thing that I finished up today is a layout also using "Bunny Love". I love the sketch that is up on the Best Creations blog and I came up with this:

Newest layouts/cards and some CTS

December 1st?!?!?! Seriously?!?! I'm not going to complain at all because this is my favorite time of year! It's been a couple of weeks now that the Christmas Spirit hit me. I've been listening to Christmas music, watching the movies, and doing a little bit of Christmas scrapbooking. Here is what I've been up to.

Holiday Baking (this one is for Bethany's sketch challenge over at CTS)

Did you happen to notice my homemade sugar cookie embellies? (as I shove the above pictures of them in your face!! LOL!) When push comes to shove and there just aren't any cute embellies in your stash, make your own. I love it when a good thought pops into my head. That thought? Puffy paint would make great icing wouldn't it?!?!? Of course it would!! Cut out some stars and a tree on the Cricut, squeeze some puffy paint on it and throw some sprinkles on it and VOILA!! You got yourself some sugar cookie embellies!!! (puffy paint is not acid free, so be careful what you put it on!)

On another note and I'm a little ashamed to just now be posting these but I just never got the chance to show off my November kit from Citrus Tree Studio! The reason for not getting them posted and the reason that I would not feel comfortable going out for a second term on the DT is that I've been crazy busy working on my son's school yearbook. No one would step up to the bat and I am the lucky one who gets to do it with the help from another mom. Anywho....enough of my rambling! Here is my DT work from the gorgeous Something to Celebrate kit. I think there are a few more for sale!! Hint! Hint! Wink! Wink!

This month I was excited to have the color challenge at Citrus Tree Studio! Not sure why I chose the colors teal blue, yellow, and brown but I am so happy with the results!! I'm liking them so much that I think I'm going to do another layout using these colors! I too really like the mix of the Crate Paper Seasons and their new line Restorations.

My art inspiration challenge

This month was my month to base my challenge on a piece of art or an ad at Citrus Tree Studio. So I set off on the internet and found this wonderful piece of summery art. There were so many elements that I loved about it but I chose to use the wave swirl, the circles, and the palm tree as my inspiration.

I quickly realized that last year's Fancy Pants summer papers worked beautifully with this year's papers. I also used the Lily Bee graph paper, a MLYB journal spot and some October Afternoon red alphas.

There is always a prize to be won by 1 lucky winner each month. This month is this fabulous Graphic 45 Halloween in Wonderland 6x6 paper pad. All challenges have to be completed by September 5th. Here's a looksy at the awesome prize!

Getting ready for Father's Day

It's hard to believe that Father's Day is this Sunday! Time sure does fly by when you're having fun! I've made a couple of cards this past week thanks to a challenge from the Citrus Tree DT girls! The first one is for my hubby and the second one is for my dear old dad. Both cards are made from the fabulous Men's Department kit at Citrus Tree Studio. Hope my guys like their cards and I wish both of them a very fun and relaxing Father's Day!!

One other challenge that I've tackled this week is one to use the colors blue, brown, and cream. I chose to make a layout about my cute little "snaggle toothed" baby. I know one of these days he is going to be very upset with his mom for even taking these pictures but I think he's adorable and I want to be able to see them for a long time to come!

Thought I was taking the summer off but....

I was thinking about taking the summer off from being on a DT and blogging but after a month, I just can't do it! This is such a huge part of who I am and it is driving me nuts!!! I need this to help me through my days so yes... I am trying out for a new design team. I saw the call from Citrus Tree Studio and got busy scrapping and chatting it up with the girls from CTS. I am in love with their kits! Cindy has such a great balance of pattern papers, cardstock, and embellies and I love the lines that she chooses! I had to have June's Men's Department and May's Delightful things. I have already started stalking the mailman even though I should know it won't be here for a few days. LOL!! Here are some pics. Autumn Splendor layout and cards

This month's kit from Color Me Daisy is called "Autumn Splendor" and it truly is a kit filled with a lot of splendor-ific supplies!! It is a beautiful mix of Dream Street's Sam and MLYB's Autumn Bliss. Also thrown in the mix is some Maya Road velvet flowers, fabric tags, rub-ons, chipboard houses, and the gorgeous Maya Road kraft envelopes. Michelle still has a few kits left if anyone is interested!!

This layout is for our monthly sketch challenge by Julie Bonner. Always fun to use one of her sketches! Here is my oldest son standing outside by the house where I was trying to catch some of the color of fall. Now a days, I'm so grateful just to get a good picture of him let alone any picture of him. He's growing up and has a mind of his own!!

Halloween Night

I swear, kids are like a fine wine. They just keep getting better with time until they hit the teenage years. But that's a whole other post!! Halloween keeps getting better and better with Josh and Gracie! As you can see in the pic, Josh was a dragon and Gracie was a princess mermaid. How cute are they?!?!?!

We had a very interesting night! It rained on us!!! We did manage to get 75% of our trick-or-treat route completed. Luckily we were on our way home when it really started to pour. We only let it add to the fun. The kids were laughing while trying to run in their costumes. The main thing was not to let it rain on the candy!! Mission accomplished and it was a Halloween to remember!

Halloween Dinners

Halloween always seems to the greatest time of the year to get creative with dinners! The kids love eating them almost as much as I love to make them! Tonight we ate Sea Monster and it was so tasty! We each got to choose which part of the sea monster we were going to eat. Chad got the head, Chris got the throat and the heart, Josh got the stomach, Gracie ate the lower intestines, and yep, you got it, I got the butt!! I tried not think about it while I was eating! LOL!! Here's a picture of it.

CMD's Seasons change and a DT call!

This month's theme for challenges at Color Me Daisy is "Fall Into Fall" and I have seriously fallen for this kit! I know that I say this all the time but this is my all time favorite kit! The colors are so playful and yummy! I love the embellishments that go with this kit too! I can't imagine how much time the owner Michelle puts into these kits matching the papers with the perfect ribbons, buttons, journaling spots, and everything else! This month she added an adorable Maya Road pumpkin mini album.

Life Preservers Sept Featured Kit

I had so much fun using the Cosmo Cricket "Early Bird" and the October Afternoon "Cherry Hill" papers! I think these 2 lines are a perfect marriage! The additional embellishments from the kit were a hit also! I just love the ETSY embellies! The owner of Life Preservers is awesome at finding those cute little ETSY embellies and getting at least 1 in every kit.

Has it really been a month?!?!?

I knew I was behind in blogging but sheesh this is sad! This last month has been such a blur. But I am happy to say that the kids are in school, swim season has come to an end, and my house is somewhat clean so I will be getting back to a normal schedule and getting some blogging done.

I have been busy doing a little scrapping. I have been working with some fabulous & vibrant colors from Color Me Daisy! The AC "Junior" mixed with the JilliBean papers and all of the colorful embellishments are the perfect combination for some fun layouts and paper crafts!!

I found this kit to be great for school pages, birthday, and just everyday fun stuff! Here are some layouts, a card, and some packaging ideas for presents.

Happy Friday and Happy Birthday to Color Me Daisy!! There's no better way to celebrate turning 1 than to have a blog hop! We are all so glad you all joined in on the fun and not to mention win some fabulous Basic Grey goodies!!

So here's my challenge. I am always looking for new ideas to celebrate the beautiful woman my grandmother is. The Jenni Bowlin papers in this month's kit were perfect to showcase my grandmother turning 93 this year.

She has always been a crafty person which is where I got my crafty gene from. So to give this layout a bit of her personality, I have added some great sewing notions which also is from the August kit. The "93" is just simply cut and stitched, no biggie.

This flower is another no biggie! I just made my yo-yo flower, glued the lace to the back, and then glued some thread and a button on to the front. Easy peasy!!

Now on to your assignment. My challenge to you is to create a layout that celebrates someone special in your life. You also have to use some fabric in your layout. It can be one of my examples, some strips that are gathered, another type of flower, or used as a piece of layering. There are endless ways to use fabric on your layouts! I am giddy over what kind of wonderful layouts I will be seeing from you ladies! Be sure to upload a picture of your layout into the Color Me Daisy gallery and thread to get credit and a chance to win some of the fabulous Basic Grey that Michelle has waiting to be won!!! "Summertime Fun" kit from CMD

I am so excited about this kit from Color Me Daisy! It is full of bright, fun, happy colors, perfect for those summertime pictures. Michelle the owner really knows how to mix and match the different lines and the embellishments! The Sassafras Paper Whimsie flowers are the cherry on the top for all of my layouts!!

I loved making this layout of my oldest son, Chris. This is the first time he was able to get up and stay up on the wakeboard. I outlined pretty much every element on the page with a black pen. I also love the BG opalines on the round BG Lime Rickey chipboard piece.

Here is Josh and Gracie on his 4-wheeler and living it up! I love to watch these two play together! Lots of layering with the BG Lime Rickey papers and how cute is that little bird?!?!?

Lots of layering for this layout. Isn't that what Basic Grey papers are great for?!?!? I added some of the ribbon from the ribbon add-on kit. Love that orange butterfly trim!

And my last project was a card. This paper just screams flip-flops to me. Not sure why but I love the way it turned out! The light blue flexlace was perfect to complete the straps on my flip-flop card!

I have a few more projects that I need to post but will save them for another day. Hope you all enjoy my creations with this kit!

Bloom and Grow

What fun papers! I am speaking of My Mind's Eye Bloom and Grow papers in the alternate kit from Life Preservers! Another color palette that just screams SPING! I love the oranges, greens, and pinks. Makes me want to sit down to a bowl of sherbet ice cream!!

This first layout is of my precious Gracie. I love that she is finally catching on to the benefits of posing in front of the camera so sweetly for mom. She got a hug and kiss plus pretty much whatever she wanted for the rest of the day. And yes, I do realize that this may evolve into something much worse! But for now, I'm loving it!!

Here she is at a plantation in Charleston, SC. We were walking around the gardens and she found some flowers to play with. Of course, mom HAS to stick them in her hair and make her pose! But doesn't she look beautiful?!?!

I adore these pics because she loves to get in the kitchen to help me cook. I am a cook myself so it tickles me for her to join in and love the things that I love.

These last three pics are of some cards I made to go into my stack of cards to have handy in case my brain is having a bad day and I've forgotten to send someone a birthday card.

Blessed photo frame

When I saw the challenge brought by Sandra to decorate a wooden frame I knew I had to use the Color Me Daisy June kit. I used the wonderful Chatterbox "fabulous" paper to cover the front and then decorated it with the cute and adorable felt pieces, a Pink Paislee flower and the always fabulous Thickers. I love the way this frame came together but was unable to find a picture to put in it. I guess maybe I need to try to get a perfect pic of my kids to put in my perfect frame. I do not hold my breath to get the kids together and get them to look at the camera at the same time or even have a decent smile but I will try. That's all I can ask for!

Playing catch up!! Part 1

My beach babies!

For Easter weekend, Chad and I decided that we wanted to drive down to Charleston to take a breather. While down there we decided to take Josh and Gracie to the beach to play around for a little while. They had a great time playing in the sand and water even though the water was freezing!!! But they are kids and it didn't stop them.

Here is my layout of Josh playing in the water and as soon as I printed this picture out I knew it had to be the picture for a layout that I'd been wanting to do. The journaling is the chorus to the Rascal Flatts song "My Wish". I used the Pink Paislee Captivating papers and love how it all turned out. It is also my scraplift challenge for the week over at Color Me Daisy.

My next layout is of my beautiful little Gracie La La (self given nickname!). I am thrilled with how this picture turned out! My new technique with photography is let them play and not let them know that I'm taking pictures. So far, it's working like a charm! This layout was inspired by a Renoir painting in other words, the Ready, Set, Slow contest at Life Preservers. The owner is asking us to base our layout on the Renoir painting "A Girl With a Watering Can". So this is my creation.

I was so tickled to see one of my "je vous adore!" layout chosen by one of the Lily Bee girls but now I'm even MORE tickled to see that they have chosen to display my flower arrangement!!! This is a HUGE first for me! Doing the happy dance! Please check it out! Lily Bee Designs

Color Me Daisy and Lily Bee

I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed working with this kit!! These Lily Bee papers are so beautiful and fab-u-lous!! The layouts practically laid themselves out for me! The first colors I saw when I looked at the papers were the dark red and blue. I am a huge fan of shapes so the first thing I did was to start cutting out the gorgeous flower pattern. I am really loving this first layout and hope you do too! I used a French title but I had to have some help because I haven't a clue about the French language, luckily my hubby did. These are my three beautiful children and my title is "je vous adore!", meaning I adore you!

This layout uses a more sarcastic approach for the title as the picture was taken on one of the days that my son's school was having spirit week. This particular day was Wacky Day. We did everything possible to make him look wacky from the tippy top of his head right down to his feet. He LOVED it!! Glad he doesn't want to do this style everyday!

This last layout is my sweet sweet Gracie girl!! I LOVE this photo of her!! It just captures the sweet playfulness of her personality. She is a little doll and I just love her to pieces!! This layout is for my monthly challenge at Color Me Daisy. My challenge is to get lots and lots of circles on a page. Between the paper circles, buttons, and embellies I got 24 circles on my page.

This next project, I had a blast putting together! I had my grandmother in mind while making it. She is in an assisted living facility and I know this will brighten her day without all of the upkeep of real flowers. I can't wait to give it to her!!

Yes, if you're wondering that is a spaghetti sauce jar! Recycle and reuse!!

The last thing to show is a card that I made with this kit. The only thing not in the kit that I used was some October Afternoon stamps. Isn't that owl so adorable?!?!?

Good morning ladies!! I'm sure you've all had your coffee this morning and are already knee deep in pattern paper and Thickers by now! Isn't this all so much fun! No wonder I love this hobby so much!!

If you've just come from the LP website, you are a ok and on track! If not, then you are off of the wild beaten path and you need to start back at the beginning!

I have enjoyed both of this month's LP kits. I love their color palettes. This is a card that was made from the featured kit Scribble Scrabble Evelyn.

This was suppose to be one of my challenges today but about half way through, I decided I wasn't really into to my design. I sat it aside and made something else for the challenge. Crazy I know!! Well, I picked it up last night and decided to finish it. Much to my surprise, I love it now!! Sometimes you just have to walk away and come back with a fresh set of eyes to appreciate something. Anyway, here it is.

March Life Preservers- Twitterpatted papers

Check out these adorable papers! These have quickly become some of my favorite papers. I love the colors and those cute little animals. This kit is from Life Preservers Kit Club.

This layout is Josh and Gracie on his 4-wheeler and I was surprised how much Gracie loved to ride. I thought that it would be 2 seconds when she would be wanting to get off of it. But much to my surprise, she loved it! She loved it so much that she kept pushing Josh's hands off of the steering wheel because she wanted to drive. That's my girl!

This layout I find very funny! Gracie's hair was just getting to the point of being long enough to put up in pigtails. But not only was Gracie's hair up in pigtails, so was the dog's and Josh's. I left Josh out of the pics because I know one of these days he will SOOOOO regret letting me do that to him. If you look hard enough you can see one of Scooter's pigtails. Poor dog!!
