So here's the sketch from Doodlebug's Monique Liedtke....

And here is my finished layout with some close ups of all the embellishments that I gave some dimension to.

Thanks for letting me share!! :)

March sketch with a twist challenge

Happy Wednesday! I've been wanting to share the sketch contest over at Burlap & Buttercups but life just keeps getting in the way but I'm here today!

Our wonderfully sweet and talented sketch artist Mary Pat Seilh has given us another beautiful sketch to work with for the month of March. The twist this month is to either use a cell phone pic or use pattern paper as embellishments.

I chose to go with using pattern paper as embellishments. I cut out circles in the kraft paper and then backed it with different pattern papers.

The deadline for this sketch challenge is over March 29th which is tomorrow but I would urge you to try it and enter!! Here's a picture of what you could win to help give you a little push. ;)

My Girl mini album

Yay!! The Burlap & Buttercups March Reveal from the DT is finally up (although the kit is sold out) and it is full of beautiful colors and designs! All of the girls displayed a gorgeous showcase of what can be done with the March kit.

So I'm here today to show you a little project that I made with the kit. The add-on kit has this mini album from Maya Road. It was a little challenging at first because it being tall and skinny but I finally got the hang of it and then went to town on making it. Most everything I used is from the kit but I used a few other things that are from previous kits and somethings are from my stash.

Just in case your wondering, I left the photo spaces blank so I could add in pictures of her that I will be taking later on in the year. But aren't those colors fantabulous?!?! Ahh...love, love, love this kit! I'll be back later to show you more of what I've created with it! :)

Momenta - Let's Party cards

Happy Saturday to all! Today I want to share some cards that I've made with my Momenta Let's Party papers and embellishments! The color and patterns are bright and happy and I LOVE them! So I sat down and made a couple of birthday cards to stick in my stash because I am a big procrastinator when it comes to getting presents ready for all of the parties my kids are being invited to. I also wanted to make sure that these cards were gender neutral so I could grab which ever one my hand landed on first.

Aren't those patterns so fun?!?! The whole time I'm working with these papers my mind wanders to other non-birthday projects that could made with them! Love it when papers/patterns are versatile! Hope you enjoy these cards and that they inspire you to make some so you're not rushing around at the last minute trying to find a card to take to a party! ;)

Challenge Friday - Stitching your title!

Happy Friday to all! Today was my turn to give a challenge over on the Burlap & Buttercups blog.....just in case you have some free time to scrap this weekend!

But first thing, I wanted to show off the BEAUTIFUL March kit!! Check out all of the sunny, warm your spirits, go outside and play elements of it!!!

And here an extra bit of goodness to add-on to your kit!!

OK, now my challenge to you is going to require you to get your needle and thread out. Don't fret though!! This was so easy!! Maybe a little time consuming but I LOVE the outcome and I think you will too! My challenge to you is to sew a word in your title. As you can see here in my layout I chose to sew the word "Smile".

The first step is to jump on your computer and find a font that you want to use and then print it out in the size you need. Lay it on your layout and start poking holes along the letters. I chose to make holes about every 1/8th of an inch to make my curves look curvy and not boxy. Then, start stitching!

After I stitched my word, I wanted to add a butterfly and thought that making it look like the butterfly had created the word would be so cute. Loved it!! Here's a close up of the finished product!!

If you do have this weekend or anytime during March, link it up over on the Burlap & Buttercups blog for a chance to win a $15 GC to the store!!

Until next time.....

SRM stickers and Easter Wishes

I am so excited to share my very first post being on the SRM Stickers DT!! One of my projects was to create an Easter card and matching tube. LOVING those cute little things!

After seeing the adorable little chick sticker, I started going through my October Afternoon papers because I knew I'd find the right combination of patterns and colors. I added some yellow ribbon, teal twine, and some very pretty Easter SRM stickers and came up with this.

I love how the word stickers really pop against the ribbon.

Decorating this tube was so much fun. I wanted the ribbon tails to be long and curly. So I pulled out some spray starch and my curling iron. I felt crazy doing it but I love how it turned out!
