It's my 1st tutorial with My Creative Scrapbook and I couldn't be more excited to share with you a step-by-step tutorial on how I created my layout "Hey Hey It's Your Birthday!" These Pink Paislee Birthday Bash papers were super fun to use. I love the toned down soft pastel colors with touches of navy blue and black that are suitable for male or female layouts. Here are all of the kits available this Month at My Creative Scrapbook....
Alright, so here we go! But first, a look at my completed layout...
Alright, so here we go! But first, a look at my completed layout...
Step 1: Trim white birthday (paper 01) to 3 ¾” x 12” and trim navy blue bursts (paper 08) to 8 ¼” x 12” and adhere to white cardstock.
Step 2: Trim 4 strips of the black confetti (paper 09) to ¾” x 12” and adhere to the outside edges to create a frame around the entire layout. Using a ruler and X-acto knife, lightly trim from corner to corner (of each corner) on the top layer to create a mitered corner.
Step 3: Trim the birthday candle and blue strip from the strips paper (paper 02). Punch a scalloped border and adhere to layout.
Step 4: Add orange (paper 05) matting behind title piece and photo while adding #blessed polaroid between photo and matt. Cut apart word strips from strips paper (paper 02) and add to the top of the title piece.
Step 5: Add some faux or real stitching with an orange marker (or thread) around the edges of title die cut. Add pop dots to a fussy cut party hat and add to the bottom corner of title. Add silver Heidi Swapp stickers, journaling strips,....
and word strips to your photo. Done!
Hope everyone enjoyed my little tutorial and is excited about the layouts you can create with this month's Creative Kit at My Creative Scrapbook!
